GEOV2, GEOV3 and MODIS showed a good agreement with reference LAI in terms of magnitude ( RMSE ≤ 0.29) and phenology. Sentinel-2 LAI showed an overall accuracy of 0.67 in terms of Root Mean Square Error ( RMSE) and it was used, after recalibration, as a benchmark to validate six coarse resolution LAI products: MODIS, Copernicus Global Land Service 1 km Version 2 (called GEOV2) and 300 m (GEOV3), Satellite Application Facility EUMETSAT Polar System (SAF EPS) 1.1 km, Global LAnd Surface Satellite (GLASS) 500 m and Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) 1 km V2. We applied it over a test study area of maize crops in northern China using continuous field measurements of LAINet along the year 2019. I hope it proves out this way in use.We proposed a direct approach to validate hectometric and kilometric resolution leaf area index (LAI) products that involved the scaling up of field-measured LAI via the validation and recalibration of the decametric Sentinel-2 LAI product. I feel that the Modis Ultra as a whole is more than the sum of its parts and is good value for what it offers. I'm full aware there are scopes with better sampling rates and more features, but not with as useful an automotive specific focus, not in a handheld form factor, and not for the approximately $1500 the modis scope accounts for in the package I purchased. The Verus was an option but realistically I couldn't justify the $10,000 tag and I have a big concern about the XP. The Verdict was over $2000 more and I dislike the 3 piece arrangement. The Solus not having fast track info was a deal breaker. I don't like OTC scan tools, and Launch tools have very minimal presence or support in my area.even my Matco rep doesn't recommend his own tools. So the Modis as a scan tool was really only ever competing against other SO platforms. And the component test and FastTrack information integrated into the Modis makes it a tool I feel I'll reach for more often than I had been using the Fluke lately.

The ease of use and visibility is massively improved over the Fluke though. As for scope functionality or its lacking features I am replacing a 15 yr old Fluke 98, so off the bat only thing I know for sure I don't have now is inductive rpm pickup, I can't recall last time I used the rpm pickup on the 98 actually. I didn't currently own any scan tools except for a code reader and GM Tech2 & MDI. I just picked up a Modis Ultra with Euro, all the OBD1 adapters, carry case, and low amp probe for $6000 total w/tax.
